The sponsorship agreement includes student bursaries and paid internship

Dublin, October 13th, 2022Amgen today (Thursday, October 13th) announced details of its sponsorship of Cuala GAA at Croke Park, Dublin. Amgen will be title sponsor of the club for the 2023 and 2024 seasons. Amgen is also sponsoring the Adult Football and Camogie teams for 2022 and will sponsor the Adult Hurling team from January 2023.  Under the terms of the sponsorship agreement, Amgen will support four adult hurling teams; five adult mens’ football teams; four adult camogie teams and four adult ladies’ football teams at Cuala GAA.

Amgen’s sponsorship of Cuala GAA also extends to education and employment incentives, with the Dún Laoghaire-based biotech company providing one main bursary and four supplemental bursaries annually to Cuala students who are entering a third-level institution to study STEM subjects, manufacturing, supply chain management, health care or teaching science in school.

Building on Amgen’s commitment to support and inspire the next generation of STEM talent, the sponsorship agreement will also see the company provide a paid internship to a student from Cuala each year through the Amgen internship programme.

In attendance at the sponsorship announcement today at Croke Park were a host of All-Ireland champions and GAA stars, including Cuala GAA and Dublin footballers Michael Fitzsimons; Martha Byrne; Jennifer Dunne and Rachel Hartnett and Cuala GAA and Dublin hurlers Jake Malone and Sean Brennan. Paul Greene, Vice-President of Manufacturing, Amgen, Cuala President Johnny Sheanon as well as officials from Cuala GAA also attended the announcement at Croke Park.
