U10 Boys football blitz

The 2016 boys are on a quest to play in every corner of Ireland. That quest continued earlier in the Summer when they dispatched a team to play in an U10 football blitz in Longford, hosted by Clonguish GAA. The facilities and hospitality shown to all the teams by the host club was first class and the organisation on the day ensured the whole event ran like clockwork. The parade at the start of the day showcased some of the big ‘names’ who were participating including Salthill Knocknacarra, Tuam, Corofin as well as a few clubs closer to home like Na Fianna. The Cuala lads were excellent, and they were more than competitive in every game. They played five games in total and displayed immense energy, effort and enthusiasm in every game in very warm conditions. They also managed to save their best performance for the last game against Corofin where the play from both sides was of a really high standard. Well done lads.

Thanks to all the players who travelled to Longford and their parents who provided great support on the day. Thanks to Conor McDermott who organised the Cuala effort. Before the day was finished Conor’s attention had already turned to lining up the next outing to Straffan on the 6th Sept. The quest continues….
