Joe McNally Men’s invitational Masters 7’s football tournament

On Saturday 13th September Cuala competed in the annual Joe McNally Men’s invitational Masters 7’s football tournament for players born before the 12th of September 1985. 20 teams competed. In the opening game Cuala suffered a defeat to St Marks, the defending champions, but positive results against St Finians and John Mitchels from Liverpool meant Cuala had qualified for the quarter final against the host Club, St Anne’s.

In a tense and dramatic game Cuala progressed to the semi final with 2 late goals. However, in the semi final injuries began to take their toll, and after nearly 2 hours of football, Cuala lost to a very slick Templeogue Synge Street team, who went on to win the tournament.

Great craic had by all and while some of the bodies might not agree everyone is looking forward to the next tournament. Anybody interested in getting involved contact any member of the Men’s Adult football committee, contact details here.

An íobairt ama. Má tá tú tógtha le rud faoi leith, aimseoidh tú slite tú féin a eagrú timpeall air!

Cad é an rud is tábhachtaí i do thuairim chun bheith i d’imreoir rathúil?

Feabhas a chur ort féin agus ar do chuid scileanna gach uair. Cahbraíonn spriocanna le mé Féin a spreagadh chun feabhsú i gcónaí.

An bhfuil aon imreoirí a thug inspioráid duit agus tú óg?

Simon Timlin agus Stephen Hiney.

Cén buaicphointe spóirt is mó atá bainte amach agat go dtí seo ?

Cén ról a bhí ag an nGaeilge i do shaol, sa spórt nó lasmuigh de?

Bród a spreagadh ionam agus nasc níos láidre a chruthú idir mé Féin agus m’oidhreacht.

Inís rud amháin suimiúil dúinn fút féin nach mbeadh ar eolas ag daoine?

Bhuaigh mé Féin agus Daniel Drummond Craobhchomórtas na hÉireann sa liathróid láimhe Oilimpeach.

The competition on the field and the friendships off the field. Everything from the big nights to giving lifts to the Twomeys.

The time sacrifice. But if you’re really keen on something you’ll figure out a way to organise yourself around it.

All Ireland Club Senior Football Champions!

CUALA ARE ALL-IRELAND FOOTBALL CHAMPIONS! 🏆🎉

The 2024/25 season will forever be remembered as the year that Cuala claimed the Dublin, Leinster, and All-Ireland titles—all for the first time in our club’s history. This makes Cuala one of only two clubs in the history of the GAA to have All-Ireland titles in both Hurling and Football.

This amazing achievement takes a huge effort, a heartfelt thank you and congratulations to the players, coaches, committee members, donors, and fans whose dedication and support made this incredible achievement possible. 🙌🏻
