Friends of Dublin Hurling and Camogie Sliotar Presentation

Friends of Dublin hurling Camogie were delighted to have Cuala as a host club for a recent presentation of sliotars to clubs. Also there on the night were neighbours Cabinteely and Geraldine Morans. Long time Cuala club member and Rúnaí of FODHC Máire Uí Scolaí was on hand to make the presentations.
FODHC decided as 16 clubs entered the draw this year that there would be a bag of sliotars for every club! Last year 3 or 4 clubs entered the draw for the All-Ireland semi-final. A massive increase from last year. FODHC very much appreciate this support from you the clubs.

Leinster Senior Football Champions

A massive congratulations and well done to our own Rachel Hartnett and Neala Byrne, who with a 6 point victory over Kildare last Sunday, made them Leinster Senior Football Champions.
The final score was 2-12 to 2-6, with it being a very close match with Dublin scoring two goals in the last 10 minutes, they were able to hold strong and take the win!
Dublin now set their sights on the All-Ireland Senior Championship, being placed in Group 3, alongside Mayo and Donegal with fixtures yet to be finalised!

Come on, you girls in blue!!!

Academy Sponsored Walk

The sun shone last weekend for the annual Academy sponsored walk up Killiney Hill, a highlight of the Academy calendar.

Children from every Academy group including our All Stars came together for the walk, with smiles all-round an indication of the success of the event.

Our donation box (Jeffrey the box) saw plenty of action with the boys and girls hitting gong when a few bob was dropped in.

Entry to the associated raffle closes today, with the draw taking place on Sunday 3rd. https://www.idonate.ie/raffle/CualaAcademyRaffle

A huge thank you to all the donors and sponsors for their generous donations. Thank you also to everyone who helped in the organisation of the event and who joined in on the day.

St. Patrick’s Day Parade

The sun shone again in Dun Laoghaire for the annual St. Patrick’s Day parade where our 2017 boys and girls represented the club in a sea of colour of red, white and of course green. There were smiles all round and of course lots of fun, another highlight for the Cuala Academy. With thanks to all involved including coaches, parents and of course the parade organisers.

2017 Boys

It has been a very busy few weeks for the 2017 boys. Firstly, a trip to Mayo to play a blitz in Westport and to support the Dubs in their league game, started Go Games and last week held a fun training session to fundraise for our new pitch with a total of €842 raised! Well done to all the boys and coaches for organising!!

Mini All Ireland Photos

A little flashback to June with fantastic imagery we received from photographer John Coveney of the Cuala Mini All Ireland finals day. The sun shone and the usual buzz and excitement filled Dalkey as the traditional parade made its way through the village to Hyde Road. The Artane Band preceded a morning of mini games, food and fun, culminating in a medal presentation ceremony. Huge thanks to all involved including the 2011 boys and girls who looked after the barbecue and treats as they fundraised for their Féile competition, the Artane band, our senior players who did the honours of presenting medals, and all who helped to make the day a success. Thanks also to our Mini All Ireland Sponsors: Massey Bros, Core Credit Union, Cantor Fitgerald and Mooneys Hyndai. We are looking forward to next year already!

Cuala Academy

It was an exciting day last Saturday as Cuala welcomed the new intake into the Academy, with fun all round in the Cuala hall. A huge thank you to our Transition Year students who got to experience their first taste of being a coach as they guided and supported the next generation of young players around the drills. Well done to all involved!
