FAQ’s / Ceisteanna Coitianta
Why have the membership fees changed for 2026?
The new Fee structure for 2026 was approved by members at the AGM on 28th November 2025.
The aim of the reorganisation was to consolidate and simplify membership rates and support the voluntary operations of the club.
Some of the advantages of the new structure include facilitating and supporting volunteering, simplifying family membership bundles by using a ‘shopping basket’ of membership options with bundle rates applied automatically, and ensuring adequate funding streams to support club activities.
Why is it now mandatory for an adult to register with a juvenile?
Cuala relies almost entirely on the volunteering of our members to run the club and organise and train all of our juvenile teams. Mandatory registration of one adult with a juvenile player (or juvenile players in a family) facilitates volunteering by parents/guardians to ensure that we can continue to run our club and train our juvenile teams.
Why are membership fees higher than rural GAA clubs?
Membership fees for Cuala GAA are known to be higher than rural GAA clubs. However, unlike other clubs who own their pitches, we need to hire pitches to cater to the training and playing requirements of our large urban membership. Therefore our fees reflect these higher costs incurred.
Why is there no single parent plan?
As part of the new fee structure introduced in 2026 you now have the option to choose the number of adults in the family bundles which facilitates a single parent family.
Why is there no student membership option?
Why is there no social membership option?
The “non playing social member” option was removed as part of the reorganisation and simplification of the membership structure for 2026.
The Hurling for Dads and Gaelic for Mothers and Others rate is also a social membership. So a member wishing to avail of a social membership has an option to pay €180 for adult non playing member or €140 for social member under H4D/G4M (prices include the levy).
What is the development levy for?
The Development Levy was put in place following a motion approved at the 2019 Club AGM and this policy will continue in 2026.
All funds collected from the development levy are ring-fenced for vital development purposes and are not used for day-to-day expenditure or any other purpose. The development levy is €30 for a single Adult member or player and €50 for all family bundles and is now included in the initial calculation of the fee on Clubforce.
Can I pay membership in instalments?
Subscription payment for new and renewing members can, when membership opens, be made in five instalments. Four instalments are available from February and three from March. Thereafter payment must be paid in full until membership opens again for the following year.
What happens if I don’t pay membership?
Players cannot be registered with the National Governing Associations (GAA, LGFA, Camogie Assocation) until their subscriptions are paid. Unregistered members are not covered by ‘Player Injury Schemes’ and Cuala will not allow them to coach, train with or play for the club.
