Cuala GAC is an amateur volunteer-led organization based in Dalkey, South Co. Dublin, that promotes Gaelic Games, culture, community and lifelong participation. With over 3,200 members from a wide catchment area, we operate as ‘One Club’, training and fielding teams in football, hurling and camogie from our youth academy up to adult level. Cuala has a strong legacy of sporting success and accolades but takes pride not only in sporting achievements but also in the participation of our members and in the enjoyment they derive from being a part of our club.

    Our mission is to promote Gaelic Games at all levels, provide our club members with lifelong engagement in sporting, cultural and social activities and also to play a central and positive role in our local community.

History / Stair

Cuala has a long and strong legacy which is quite unique, with organised contests involving local players from Dun Laoghaire and Dalkey taking place as far back as the 1800s.

The governing body of our club is the Coiste (Executive Committee), who oversee a variety of section and specialised sub-committees.

Members and Teams / Baill agus Foireann

We currently have approximately 3,200 members from diverse backgrounds, covering all ages from juvenile to adult, competing in close to 100 teams across all codes.

Location and Facilities / Láthair agus Áiseanna

Our club is headquartered at Hyde Road, Dalkey, with a hall which houses our indoor astro hall, gym, video analysis room, social rooms and shop. The Hyde Park Sports Centre Project will see a state of the art redevelopment of these facilities. We play home games and train at Dun Laoghaire Rathdown Council public park pitches at Hyde Road, Shankill, Thomastown and Meadowvale.

Sporting Success / Rath Spórtúil

Cuala has won a variety of trophies and accolades both on and off the pitch, including Dublin Senior Football Champions 2024, All Ireland Senior Club Hurling Championship 2017, Chamber of Commerce Award Best Sports Club 2017 – Irish Times Best Sport Club Award, and Hurling Club of the Year 2015 and 2017 – Friends of Dublin Hurling. We have a strong legacy of producing high calibre players who go on to succeed and become household names at county level.
