The Cuala Senior Hurlers are preparing to face near neighbours, Kilmacud-Crokes, in the final of the Senior Hurling Championship next weekend. Whatever the outcome, there is considerable pride and passion for an achievement that hasn’t been experienced in Cuala for almost 20 years. It’s a defining moment for this great Club. We are at the cross-roads between a magnificent past, and a bright future that promises everything. Our past will always be remembered for the success we had in winning three Senior Hurling Championships, and getting to the final of the Senior Football Championship was an incredible achievement. Today there are still echoes of those past glories. Sunday’s match program will be littered with the old names, but new names have now been added to create the new Cuala tapestry.

But what of our future? Thanks to the work of countless Cuala men & women we now have a conveyor belt of talent coming through our Club – both girls and boys. We have county representatives at every age-group. We have an Academy that is the envy of every club in the country and we have kids that just love playing the games that are their heritage. We have managers & mentors that week in and week out commit their time and energy to making our future happen!

As a Club we have come a long way together! We need to celebrate our achievements on Sunday in Parnell Park. Be part of what is great about this Club, be part of the community that is Cuala.

The piece above was kindly scripted by a member of the previous Cuala winning championship teams hopefully come Sunday there will be 30 new individuals who will possess a county medal.
