The season will kick off in anger this weekend for the Juvenile section and for a few politicians too by the looks of it:
The Juvenile Boys football season gets under way this week. Cuala has teams at Division 1 level in every age group and has more teams in action than any other club. The U13’s have four teams, the first time this has happened in Dublin. Good luck to all our teams as they represent the club with pride and ability in the four corners of the City.
The U16A’s face Sylvester’s away this weekend in the first round of the league and the U16’s are at home to Clan na Gael. The U15s are away to Castleknock while the U14s face Crokes.
Adult section will hold a Table Quiz on Friday 11th February 2011 @8pm.Table of 4 for €40.00. A great night is in store with plenty of prizes etc.
Adult Hurling Training continuing Tuesday & Thursday @7.30pm in Dalkey for Hurlers.
You may remember that in January we circulated information on ordering tickets for upcoming Dublin NFL matches. We have received an extension on the date and now orders must be in by Tuesday Feb 8th. Cuala has a chance to enter into some profit sharing on this if we sell over 150 tickets. Currently we stand at 88 so get ordering. And oh yeah, there are 2 Lucans lads playing centre field called Jed and Ward.
The eagle-eyed amongst you may have seen last Saturdays Sport section in the Independent looking for the public to select players for an “Unsung Heroes” selection in Hurling and Football. These are players who played with great distinction but never won an All-Ireland. Its a competition to see if your team can match one selected by experts. Our own John Twomey, former Erins Isle and Dublin hurling supremo, is amongst the half-back nominees.
Our Newsletter goes to a wide circulation of people but we know not everyone in Cuala eceives it. As new people join the club please let them know its available. The more the merrier! Also we are always looking for regular contributors so dont be shy of passing up information that is relevant or useful.
