Over recent weeks, the Cuala Sports & Social Integration Programme (SSIP) in collaboration with the Coaching Committee have been piloting a new sports course.  Due to unprecedented interest in this course, the numbers had to be increased to facilitate so many applications. Damian Byrne, manager of the Cuala SSIP was delighted with the response and with the help that was forthcoming in constructing the programme.  “I’d like to thank all the participants and the Tutors for their time and expertise in developing this important course

The programme consisted of these modules & tutors –

  • Sports/Health Psychology (Denis Monaghan / Damian Byrne)

  • Building Physical Skills (Damian Byrne / Ken Fitzgerald)
  • Group Dynamics / Challenging Behaviour (Damian Byrne)
  • Sport Injuries / First Aid (Michael Fitzsimons / Zita McDermott)

We would also like to thank the participants for their practical work with the Academy and in the coming weeks we intend hosting a presentation night. The Cuala SSIP and the Coaching Committee will be developing the course and it is envisaged that the next course will be held at the end of September.
