Following the success of our Cuala Adult choir who recorded and performed on LyricFM & various concerts, we are pulling out all the stops to start a fun Junior Choir & Singing Group!
We are therefore inviting an expression of interest from Cuala members to let us know if their kids would be interested in joining the Cuala Junior Choir.
If you are interested, can you please return the form below:
Our choir Maestra is Audrey McKenna – she is an extremely talented music professional who has given so much of her time and energy to the choir. She has 30 years of working in this space both in Ireland and Internationally. Most recently she was Artistic Director for Irish Heritage in London for 5 years which is endorsed by the Dept of Foreign Affairs and is very passionate about promoting our Culture and Heritage and nurturing the next generation’s full potential (https://irishheritage.org.uk/)
In addition, she led & sang in the ballad group for the Scór competition and to much delight, won the County Final. She feels they can do even better next year whilst also promoting Scór in Cuala and taking the lead in the Junior/Teenage choir.
Regarding Choral success specifically, Audrey has trained and Directed Choirs to perform in the Film industry i.e. The Tudors Series, Feis Ceoil Choral Winners at the RDS, Late Late Show appearances, Scór winners, National and International performances etc.. https://www.linkedin.com/in/audreymckennamusic/
“Junior Choir is an opportunity to promote our language and our culture through the medium of singing & ballad groups. It’s a very inclusive, team building, community-friendly, fun-filled way to encourage people to get involved in the GAA from a more artistic perspective”
