Harold Boys Dalkey first entered a Senior team in the Schools League in the 1954/55 season. And what a debut it turned out to be for the Dalkey hurlers.

Dun Laoghaire Players Rub Shoulders with G.A.A. Aristocracy – 1886

Dun Laoghaire footballers and hurlers were among 15,000 players who participated in a monster tournament in Thurles. Not only did they come in contact with the G.A.A. founding fathers but they also got the opportunity, for the very first time, to make a point.
