What a weekend !!

Saturday Oct 20th 2012 5.12pm

Cuala returned to the Senior football ranks after an absence of 20 years.

20 years is a long time but given the football played by our Senior team on Saturday , it was worth the wait. Playing with pace and accuracy Fingallians had no real response and in the end the lads ran out comfortable winners.  Well done to Derek , his backroom team and the team itself.

Then came Sunday morning, with our Junior team under the stewardship of Enda showed all the qualities , heart , skill and determination to take home the Junior D Championship Title.

But as Rob Harnett noted last week, victory is not just about trophies, and that still holds true, even after the weekend just gone.

The contrasting emotions of the past 2 weekends only purely emphasizes the strength of Cuala. Whether it was the pure devastation of our Hurling heroes after the county final loss or the pure elation of our footballers this weekend Cuala’s founding fathers (& mothers)  can rest safe in the knowledge that the Cuala is getting stronger and stronger.

The journey goes on for our Senior footballers as they now turn their attentions to a Leinster campaign –  St Mary’s of Longford in O’Toole Park 2.30pm, Sun Oct 28th, all support welcome.
