HELLO

Hello and welcome if this is your first time receiving the Cuala Weekly News.  We publish most Friday’s with news from around the club about our teams, our dreams, our players, our volunteers, our people and more.

Cuala is a busy club, and a great one, and it is good to be able to see the bigger picture in what we hope is an unobtrusive weekly update.

If you are OK with that, great and welcome aboard.  If you’d rather not get the email, there is an unsubscribe link at the bottom of the page and we will remove you from the list.

Anyway, here are some of the things that have been happening around the club this past week…

IT’S DECEMBER SO LET THOSE SLEIGH BELLS RING

Dalkey Christmas Trees are back again this year at the end of Hyde Road adjacent to the Circle K garage.

Even better they have hooked up again with Support4Drummo so that a contribution from every tree you buy will go straight towards Sean’s campaign.

And because planning is important we are also delighted to say that the Cuala Juvenile Boys will be out and about in January to collect the trees and dispose of them in a proper fashion, helping so many of our groups with one of the few fundraisers that have been possible this year.

BRICK BY BRICK BY BRICK AND THROUGH €1 MILLION

With huge support (and song) from groups of players, individual families and teams across the club we smashed the €1m before last weekend’s finals.

We’re on the way! Comhgairdeas agus buíochas libh uilig.

Love your team, make your mark on history by getting together.

CLUB AGM DEFERRED TO DECEMBER 14TH

The club AGM will now take place on Tuesday 14th December at 8 PM.

Because of rising Covid numbers, we are hosting the meeting online and we hope as many members as can make it will join us.

Details for the club AGM including a Members Pack and a copy of the financial reports have been sent out to all Club members over the age of 18.  If you have not received this please contact secretary.cuala.dublin@gaa.ie quoting your name and GAA registration number which you will have been sent at the time of paying your membership.

This is an important meeting for the club and it is always great to see new members who might be interested in playing a part in keeping everything we do ticking over and moving in the right direction.

U21’S AND MINORS STILL GOING

Well done to the U21 Men’s team last week who won their Championship tie against St Brigids by  0-16 to 1-05.  Hard luck to the second team who bowed out to Na Fianna.  The A’s will now meet either Balinteer St John or Fingal Ravens in the Championship Final next Saturday, December 11th.

Good luck to our Minor A Camógs who are in Championship action at Meadowvale on Sunday morning at 1030 against St Brigids.

WELL DONE THE GIRLS

Congratulations to Gráinne O’Driscoll, Rachel Hartnett and Jennifer Dunne who won the Division One Ladies Football Higher Education League Title in a very wet and muddy Stradbally on Thursday night.

Well done also to Sinéad Wylde who has been named on the Dublin Camogie Senior Squad for next year.

AMGEN INTERNSHIPS

As part of our club partnership with Amgen, we have a number of bursaries and opportunities with the company that are of real value to our young players coming through college.

The 2022 Graduate Programme is now open for application from those who may be in the final year of their studies in Manufacturing, Engineering and Process Development.

The duration of the programme is two years on a fixed-term contract basis.  The aim is to provide an intensive, practical learning experience to graduates who are seeking a career in this industry.

There is a competitive starting salary and a very comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, bonus, pension and 28 days annual leave.  There is also the chance to launch a great career with the company.

WARM HEADS FULL HEARTS

We wear our colours with pride and never more so than on our heads.  They’re back, and they do have a very Christmassy look about them.

There are plenty of other ideas in the Cuala Club shop as well.  Check out the website for online browsing and pick up your goodies from the club each weekday morning.

LOTTO

No winner of the Cuala lotto this week with 6,9,10 and 14 the numbers drawn. There is the added bonus of a €100 prize for one player every week as part of the Lucky Dip, won this week by Sile Wallace.

Next week’s jackpot will be €2,500
