Cuala Ladies had their first game of the Dublin adult season last Wednesday, 30th March,.The opener was a Cup game against the ever fancied Ballyboden St Enda’s side. Our girls soaked up the ‘Boden pressure in defence conceding 2-06 but our forwards were in fine form at the other end where they clocked up a fantastic 3-21 before the final whistle. The game this week is postponed to allow the Coláiste Íosagáin girls prepare for their All Ireland in Athlone this Saturday. Good Luck.
There will be a meeting of the Juvenile Boys committee in the club at 9.15 next Tuesday, April 12th.Well done to the U13 hurlers who sent a combined A and B team to play the Wicklow U13 County development Squad in Blessington last week and came away with a 3-08 to 2-08 victory.
Cuala Senior Hurling team won a competitive and entertaining match against St. Peregrine’s, 1-18 to 1-10, in Shankill last unday morning. Having conceded an early goal, Cuala tied the match 0-7 to 1-4 at half-time. Cian Waldron kept the scoreboard ticking over for Cuala in the first half with 4 vital points from play. In the second half, Cuala’s extra fitness and hurling skill told, outscoring St. Peregrine’s 1-11 to 0-6. With Rob Reid reliable from placed balls (0-6) and Colm Sheanon very busy at full forward, Rory Doyle (0-3) and Davy Cunningham (1-1) made telling contributions from play. Shane Kiely and Shane Holden were very reliable in defence. Cuala’s discipline and application were exemplary on the day and the win was a fitting and well-won result.
Adult Hurling Training continues this week with hurling training (6:30 p.m.) and physical raining (7:30 p.m.) sessions at Shankill on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and the usual hurling sessions on Saturday mornings at Shankill at 10:45 p.m.
