Thanks to all who made last Saturday such a success – the Coaching conference, registration and Micko at the Academy. It was a very enjoyable day with a big crowd – and a few inches of snow too! In case you missed it we got a double page spread in the Herald last Tuesday. Here is the link :

Well done to all those who braved the weather last week to attend the juvenile registration and the coaching conference. Those who did not make it to register must fill out their forms and return them with payment either to their team mentors at training this weekend or next week or in person at a second registration morning provisionally scheduled for Saturday morning, January 23rd. Any Juvenile players who have failed to register with the club, and through us with the Dublin County Board will not be eligible to play or train with the club from Saturday January 30th so please make every effort to get this done as swiftly as possible.

Thank to all participants of the Cuala Coaching Conference that came out in the bad weather, we hope you gained some knowledge from the conference. We would like to thank Angela O’Sullivan, Ciaran Muldowney and Mick Brennan for their excellent presentations. The presentations will be on the Cuala Coaching Website very soon. The Coaching Department aim to fulfill the requirements of the Cuala Mentors but if there are any areas that were not covered or you would like assistance with, or should be considered for next year please email The Cuala Coaching CD was launched at the conference and Willie Braine will be making a presentation of how to use the Coaching CD at the next Academy and Juvenile meeting, with a copy for all. For all you energised coaches after the Christmas break there is a suggested Winter Training Prog for ages 12 to 16 on the CD that individuals or teams could consider. All the skills cards you need and reams of conditioned/fun games are there to help design your coaching sessions, as well as a session template/example and a section on how to plan your session. Plus a 5min video on the IDEA method of coaching. The finalised Cuala Player Pathway is the bible for Cuala success so when planning your sessions have a quick look to see what you should be coaching your teams.
