After months of fund raising which included Christmas tree collection, cake sales, coffee mornings and the obligatory bag packs, the TY Cuala to Zambia 2019 are on the count down and will fly out to Zambia on Friday the 28th of June.

The group will be going to Kabwe in Zambia where they will live in the heart of the community and build houses in partnership with Habitat for Humanity for 2 weeks. They will live on site in basic accomodation and be without electricity or phones for this time!!!
The group consists of 10 lads and 8 girls all of whom have just finished TY. They are going under the watchful eyes of 5 Cuala leaders, Niamh Murphy, Leanne Doyle, Bernard McGranaghan, Peter Murray and Linda Farren.

This is the 4th year that Cuala have being involved in house building in Zambia and this fantastic initiative was started by Kevin Spain. This year he facilitated the LIFT Leadership programme for the students and leaders over an 8 week period in order to prepare the team for the task ahead and for future life challenges.

We would like to thank Sinead Wylde and Cormac Spain for all their impute over the last few weeks.
The group are collecting jerseys, small toys and any donations to bring with them. If you would like to contribute, please contact one of the leaders (names above).

Laura and Ciara Spain facilitated 2 excellent workshops for the group on Sunday evening looking at their hopes and concerns for the trip.
We wish them all the best on their travels and as a club we are very proud of what they are setting out to do.
