Dear Cuala Members,
It is with great pride that I am writing this note of congratulations to our five Cuala members on their fantastic achievements this weekend. And we salute all their team mates on the Senior Mens and Ladies Football panels who did Dublin proud in this and previous seasons.
Con, Jennifer, Martha, Michael and Peadar have exceeded all of our expectations (or maybe not). It is not so long ago that Cuala honoured Michael Holden as our only All Ireland winner, but look at us now!
While our 5 “special ones” did the work on the pitch, we cannot forget the parents, mentors, coaches, sponsors and fellow players who, over the years, supported, encouraged and helped them to achieve their goals. And I’ve no doubt about the great inspiration given by those Cuala greats who now look on “from the balconies of heaven” at the exploits of our “little club at the side of the road“.
As a Club we salute their success but we too deserve to participate in the celebrations. In due course, we will find the opportunity to do just that. In the meantime, on behalf of all Cuala members, past and present, we say an enormous Congratulations to the 5 Special ones
