RECRUITMENT & SELECTION OF COACHES & VOLUNTEERS
The Cuala policy position is that all coaches/volunteers, prior to commencing their role(s) with children, must:
- Have an in-date vetting letter from either GAA, LGFA or Camogie Association.
- Must have completed a relevant child safeguarding training as approved by GAA Associations
- Must obtain a minimum coaching qualification (Foundation Level) from GAA.
- Complete the Cuala Coach Application Form – LINK HERE
- Your application will be approved by Coiste, or relevant Club Official.
Safeguarding Process
In parallel with the vetting process – request your section secretary to notify the Club’s children’s officer, or, Club coach that you have started the vetting process and that you are available for Safeguarding training.
Your name will be placed on the waiting list.
Coach Training Process
In parallel with both the vetting/safeguarding process – request your section secretary to notify the Club’s children’s officer, or, Club coach that you have started the vetting process, applied for Safeguarding training and that you are now interested in completing the Foundation Level Training course
Your name will be placed on the waiting list.
PLEASE NOTE:
The requirement to have a minimum coaching qualification applies only for volunteers taking on the role of coach/mentor.
It is not a requirement for ‘Pied Pipers‘, ‘Shepard’s‘ or Covid Officers.
Code of Behaviour
All coaches working with underage children must submit the Code of Behaviour Declaration form and have it recorded on the Cuala CoachReg system.
