We awoke on Wednesday  to the tragic news of the death of a great young man, Cathal Gillen.

Cathal played with Cuala up to u16 with the ’98 group and was a talented hurler, footballer and at 17 he played LOI and represented Ireland at Bowls.

Above all, Cathal was a beautiful person.

We will rally round to support each other through this sadness.

If you know someone feeling low or down because of this covid or life in general, give them a call.

Make that call now and check in with lads at the fringe of the group and the lads at the centre of the group.

We are all fragile at different times and we all need a boost so do it now.

Make 1 call. If they need a bit of extra help give a Cuala mentor a shout and we will find the right support.

May our good friend Cathal rest in peace.
