There were emotional scenes in the Cuala changing room after their game with Scoil Ui Chonaill as Gary Loonam packed his Cuala gear bag for the last time. Gary heads off to Canada on Tuesday with his family to follow shortly afterwards. Gary has been a tremendous hurler for Cuala and has given great service to the club over the years. In recognition of his service to Cuala, Shay Hayes, on behalf of all Cuala hurlers, presented Gary with an enlarged signed photograph of the team.
Everyone in Cuala wishes Gary and his family every success and happiness in Canada. Shay has promised to send over his league title medal at the end of the season.
