The general consensus around the club was that the Adult Hurling Forum held on Mon. 18 Nov was a tremendous success. With 70 people in attendance on the night and with regrets received from at least 10 others, there was a hugely positive response from the club-members to the request for support for Hurling across the Club.
Aidan Boyle set the scene for the gathering, and outlined the objectives and expectations for the meeting. Players Oisin Gough and Denis Monaghan took the group through the agreed strategy for adult hurling, and raised awareness of the work that needed to be done. The message was clear and unambiguous – “if everyone takes on one small job, and commits to doing that job extremely well, Cuala will see great success both on and off the field of play“.
The next steps will be to pull together small teams of people to look after the identified tasks outlined in the strategy, and for these teams to convene next week to agree activities for 2014.
It was heartening to see the support from the Football fraternity in the Club who offered their support and willingness to help. It was generally agreed that Aidan, Oisin and Denis deserve great credit for putting this initiative in place.
By the way, if you could not make it to the meeting but still want to help, it’s not too late.
