Little bit of History at HQ

Last evening at Hyde Park a little bit of club history was made when Cuala played Naomh Olaf in the Dublin Senior II Football Championship. – it was the first time that a senior championship fixture was held at the ground. With COVID restrictions (200 max including players & officials) in place for this game both sets of supporters demonstrated very good social distancing – with approx 140 in attendance around the ground.

On the close of half-time the score was Cuala: 0-12(12) Naomh Olaf: 1-2(5) – Cuala’s Niall O’Callaghan opened the score with a good point on the 22-second mark. Olafs registered their first point on the 9-minute mark having shot 3 wides before that during play.

Cuala were the winners of this encounter with a scoreline of 2-24 to 1-6 – with scores from Niall O’Callaghan (1-7), Luke Keating (0-7), Con O’Callaghan (0-4), John Sheanon (0-3), Michael Fitzsimons (1-0), James Power (0-1), Dairmuid O’Floinn (0-1) and Cathal O’Giollain (0-1).
