Call for Umpire Volunteers – Support Éamonn on the Leinster Panel
We’re proud to share that our club’s Senior Referee, Éamonn Dromgoole English, has been selected to join the Leinster Panel for Gaelic Football this year — a fantastic achievement.
As Éamonn continues to progress, he’s aiming to officiate County Minor and U21 matches in 2026, as well as Leinster Club Championship games across the province in the coming seasons.
To support this journey, Éamonn has asked the club to reach out to members for volunteer umpires. One of the biggest challenges in advancing through the refereeing ranks is having a reliable team of umpires — and Éamonn would greatly appreciate your help.
What You Need to Know:
  • No refereeing experience required — a strong interest in Gaelic Football and Hurling is more than enough.
  • Travel time: Depending on the venue (e.g. Wexford), games may take up most of the day.
  • Food will be provided for all umpires.
  • This won’t be a weekly commitment — more likely once a month (In many cases, Éamonn will be assigned as a linesman or 4th official rather than the main referee)
Match Schedule:
  • Sigerson Cup: January – February (midweek)
  • Minor & U21 Season: March–April (midweek and weekends)
  • Leinster Competitions: November–December (weekends)
  • Dublin Championship: July–October
If you’re interested in getting involved or want to learn more, please reach out to the club secretary on secretary on Secretary.cuala.dublin@gaa.ie, or Éamonn on 085 1452187. Your support could make a real difference in helping Éamonn represent the club at the highest levels.
