With St. Brigids conceding, Cuala was coming a respectable 3rd in the league. To finish the league off, the top four teams played in knock-out semi-finals and Cuala were drawn again away to Kilmacud Crokes.
Cuala had a full squad with the bonus of Fiona & Cathy playing up from the Under 16s.
Both teams started slowly but Crokes had the upper hand in the first half with a score line of 8 points to 3 points.  With a stern half-time talk from Mikie & Joe, the Cuala girls came out with only one goal in their minds (well, six actually!). From the back line right up to the forwards, the girls were outstanding and there was little a shell-shocked Crokes could do. 6 goals and 3 points were scored by Cuala in an action packed second half.
In spite of Crokes’ excellent players and some great play, Cuala clung on their lead and looked dangerous all the time.
It’s difficult to pick ‘Lady of the Match’ as we, unfortunately, now take great performances for granted from most of the team! But Cathy was SENSATIONAL and Crokes (and all the spectators) could only look on in awe! So she, deservedly, was Lady of the Match.
